The High Peak’s towns and villages are as diverse as they are beautiful. High Peak Borough Council is working hard to make them even better places to live, visit and run a business in.
The Council is investing in the future of our towns with £10 million regeneration and heritage restorations project in Buxton town centre and the £7 million revitalisation of Glossop Market and Town Hall underway, which will see new and improved places at the heart of Glossop town centre reopen in Spring next year.
For the towns and villages in our Borough’s central area, we will soon refresh and relaunch a grant pot for regeneration projects to support jobs and businesses. This relaunched pot will be more accessible to local groups than the previous pot was.
We are also investing in our parks and play areas, with a new 10-year plan to develop and improve these in every neighbourhood with a dedicated Parks Development Fund. There is also funding to support sports clubs and community groups to build the physical things that help people to be and keep active via our Move More High Peak Capital Fund.
We have just announced a £1 million package of grants to support local businesses, the community and our essential tourism and visitor economy, including grants for improvements to high street businesses, business advice and community projects. The package also includes support for local organisations to be able to apply for the grants.
You can learn more about these and how to apply on High Peak Borough Council’s website or by going to bit.ly/HPBCGrants
