I stood as a Labour Councillor for Blackbrook Ward because I wanted to actively help out in my community. I’ve lived in Chinley for fifteen years after raising my family in Leicester. During this time I’ve been involved in many local activities. These include litter-picking and leading the team helping the Parish Council maintain Chinley Park Nature Reserve. With the help of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, the Friends of Chinley Park Nature Reserve has also organised educational activities for adults and children.
Now I’m a councillor, I’m keen to understand the issues or problems that are causing concern for Blackbrook residents. I’ll work with you and my fellow councillors – Ruth George and Dan Capper – aiming to resolve them.
Stop me for a chat if you see me in the village or at the Wednesday Chinley Coffee morning at the Community Centre.
