Exciting plans for a £10m investment in Buxton town centre are set to be unveiled soon.
Local councillor Rachael Quinn said: “This is a great opportunity to improve an area that is at the heart of our town for the benefit of all that use it -residents, retailers and visitors alike.
“We are also keen to boost the wider town centre including the Market Place and Higher Buxton.”
The cash boost comes after Labour-led High Peak Borough Council secured £6.6 million from the government’s Future High Street Fund in addition to nearly £1 million from Heritage England for cultural events and heritage improvements. Topped up by £3m from the council.
The Council is now working with community and civic groups to develop the plans.
