Speeding and road safety have topped the list of concerns raised by residents with Cllr Anne Clarke, the new county councillor for Hayfield and New Mills.

Since her election in May, Anne has worked closely with the Police, Safer Neighbourhoods Team and the local Community Speed Watch, as well as liaising with county council officers to push for improvements.

These include the road calming on Swallow House Lane; the current bid to move the Marsh Lane pedestrian crossing to a safer place; and lobbying for yellow lines to prevent parking where visibility is severely restricted.
