Jon Pearce, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for High Peak posted an update about the Mottram Bypass on his Facebook page last night. Here is the post for anyone who doesn’t have access to Facebook.
In March I wrote to Robert Largan asking him to put party politics aside and work with me and Jonathan Reynolds (the MP for Mottram) on the Mottram bypass and finding a solution to the congestion and pollution in Tintwistle and Glossop. There are lots of things we disagree about but where we have common ground, like the Mottram bypass, I believe we should work together. He ignored my letter. And today I have seen a leaflet misrepresenting mine and the Labour Partyโs position on the Mottram bypass. This is politics at its worst. He is seeking to cause division where there isnโt any and unnecessary anxiety for voters. Robert Largan might be lying about me and the Labour Party but it is ๐๐ผ๐ he is lying to. This is a cynical attempt to get votes under false pretences.
