DON’T LET ANYONE TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!

There are local elections in High Peak on May 4th. For the first time, you will need to produce valid photo ID in order to vote.

If you haven’t yet got the right ID, don’t worry. There are a number of ways to sort this out. They’re quick – and free!

1. Sign up for an early vote. No need for a photograph and you get two weeks to vote by post. Even if you don’t get round to posting your vote, you can still take it to your polling station on election day. Deadline to apply for an early vote is 18th April.

2. Apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. You need a digital photo of yourself and your national insurance number. You can do it without your NI number but it takes a bit longer. The deadline for applications is 25th April. This can only be used for voting in elections.

3. If you want a more widely-useful card, then think about a PASS card. It can be used anywhere where proof of age is required. CitizenCard is currently offering their PASS card, (usually £15) for nothing, with the code FREEVOTERID

REMEMBER: NO VOTER ID = NO VOTE

Don’t let that happen to you.
