The cuts to rail services have been causing g some problems and I’ve been lobbying Northern Rail especially for the reinstatement of stops at Davenport and Woodsmoor for the many High Peak students who travel to college or school in Stockport. I’m very pleased that Northern have realised the need for these stops and have reinstated them on weekdays until further notice. They told me:

We have been working on a solution to enable the 07:36 Buxton-Manchester Piccadilly service to make additional calls at Woodsmoor and Davenport stations under a Special Stop Order provision. This will take place everyday Monday-Friday from Monday 10 January 2022 until further notice. Due to the timescales and process involved these changes under the Special Stop Order provision will not be shown in Journey Planners until 48 hours before departure of the train.

I would again like to reassure your constituents that the 07:59 Buxton-Manchester Piccadilly service will be reinstated at the earliest opportunity when the situation with regards to COVID improves.

If you are experiencing other problems in particular with the new timetable, please do let me know.
