We’re so proud that Buxton has been awarded Plastic Free Community status by Surfers Against Sewage.
This is not about completely removing plastic from our lives. It’s about kicking our addiction to single-use plastic and changing the system that produces it.
Here’s Transition Buxton: “Buxton has been awarded Plastic Free Community status, thanks to over 50 local businesses, organisations, and schools all pledging to eliminate single use plastic from their operations (at least 3 items each, but most have done more and will continue). The plastic free journey and the work will carry on building on this impressive base.”
Huge congratulations to Transition Buxton and to everyone who has made the commitment and taken the action. Well done too to Jean and Madeline and the other High Peak Labour councillors who have put High Peak Borough Council at the heart of this initiative.
